Fashionable Fall Trends

While fall may be a time where extracurriculars consume life and you’re forced to wake up at the crack of dawn everyday, it’s the perfect opportunity to upgrade your style so you're suffering fashionably! In order to take advantage of the ideal weather for nice outfits, it is necessary to familiarize yourself with the fall fashion trends of 2023 that will get you endless compliments to the point where everyone will be attempting to duplicate your style!
Tops are the first thing noticed, making them the most important piece of your fit. Having a good rotation of sweaters is a fall necessity, and as of now, there are two essential sweaters to keep in mind when building your fall closet: oversized sweaters and V-neck sweaters/cardigans are exceptional options to boost your style! First, the oversized look, either with a collar or crewneck , entails sweaters that are comfortable and adorable. Next, having a good V-neck sweater or cardigan is a great look. Commonly paired with jeans, V-necks give off a preppy and clean vibe but can be styled alternatively with undershirts or accessories. My preferred sites are Brandy Melville, Free People, or Anthropologie. Another crucial top is a long sleeve cotton shirt. I would pair them with flare leggings to get a slimming, athletic look, or sweatpants/yoga pants. The best places to find these are either Skims or Lululemon, but you can find similar-looking alternatives on Amazon which are much cheaper but lower quality. Lastly, having a nice, light-weight jacket for the colder months is a great way to expand your wardrobe. This could be a leather jacket, thin puffer jacket, or a sherpa bomber jacket. These are great to throw over t-shirts and sweaters and can really determine the vibe of your outfit. Pants are an aspect of your outfit that are usually overlooked, but with the correct selection they can be what you’re looking for! As of now, mid-length flare and straight, bootleg jeans are popular cuts that are pretty simple to style. Any sweater or shirt looks great with them, and they give a slimming look but still add dimension by having open ends that sit perfectly over a nice pair of shoes. Jeans are difficult to buy since different stores fit people differently, but some good sites to look at in general are Levi, American Eagle, or Pacsun. Another trendy pair, one of my favorites, is open ended sweatpants and yoga pants. My personal favorites are the Brandy Melville Anastasia and Rainey Cotton sweatpants that come in a variety of colors and are extremely comfortable/warm. Another great alternative are the high-waisted wide leg sweatpants from Target which can also be bought from Amazon. Lastly, cargo pants are another great option to wear in the fall. Personally, I am fond of gray, beige, navy, and white cargos which are great neutrals that compliment the fit. Cargos pair nicely with a tight-fit shirt, and any of the sites mentioned above are great places to find cargos. Lastly, shoes and jewelry provide a subtle way to bring your outfit together and can really alter your appearance when utilized properly. The right selection of shoes can differentiate your outfit. For sneakers, Nike Dunks, Air max 270’s, Adidas Forum’s or Gazelles, platform Converse, and On Air’s are great options. Personally, I think shoes are great pops of color for your outfits. While having a pair of neutral shoes is important for everyday wear, having a bright pair of shoes really attracts attention to your outfit. You can coordinate using the “sandwich method,” in which you match your top with your shoes. Boots and slippers are also a “must have” in colder months; right now, Mini Uggs or Platform Uggs are huge, and they tend to sell out quickly when winter arrives, but there are plenty of alternative, cheaper dupes on Amazon, with the lack of brand name and potentially lower quality as the only drawbacks. Other boots such as Dr Martin’s and Blundstones are also stylish looks, but in my opinion, the uggs are much more bearable when spending six hours in school. You can buy all of the following from sites like DSW, Zappos, Nike, and Footlocker. Last but surely not least, jewelry is a crucial part of an outfit that ties the color scheme together. First, necklaces add dimension to an outfit, and really pop when wearing v-necks or any other large neck cuts. Stacking necklaces is a great strategy to build up an outfit (as long as you do not mix metals!). Earrings are a good way to extend your outfit above your neck. Two earring styles I am really digging right now are thick hoops and tiny studs. I recommend wearing thick hoops with a basic outfit to give it a pop and wearing studs with a more complex outfit to avoid drawing too much attention away from another statement piece. Finally, the addition of bracelets and rings can transform the vibe of an outfit to your liking. Some good places to purchase jewelry are pura vida, kendra scott, evry jewels, and once again Amazon for cheaper alternatives. Hopefully this was a great guide to fall fashion and inspired you to improve your wardrobe and style. It is amazing the wonders a good outfit can do as it increases your confidence and makes your day more colorful! |
