Memorable Movies

At 2 AM when you are cuddled up in your bed with some Netflix (even though you’re supposed to be doing homework), on the weekend during family movie night, or even at the theater when you are filled with excitement for a new release, it is pretty clear that movies are an essential part of relaxation in daily life. Whether it is to relive your childhood days or simply find comfort after a long week, this list will satisfy every film buff’s requirements.
The first essential on any good list of nostalgic movies is the Harry Potter series. The novels are a source of comfort for any bookworm, so the movies naturally provide a sense of nostalgia. Most people remember the first time they read this revolutionary series, and watching the movies can bring back reminders of the good old days. Although the movies aren't perfectly accurate to the book, most viewers agree that overall, they are a good representation of the writing. Whether a Halloween marathon or a Christmas rerun, this series is continually on TV. It is the perfect watch for friend and family get-togethers. Every film is so good in this series that you’ll find it hard to pick a favorite! If there’s one movie that everyone has to have watched at some point in their life, it's Legally Blond. This movie has an element of comedy, spectacular outfits, and a great message; there is something about it that can appeal to any audience. The main character, Elle Woods, is a cultural icon with her love for pink and her tiny dog bruiser. Although it’s been a whole 22 years since the movie’s release, Elle continues to inspire every kind of audience. This movie would be a great fit for a fun movie night with your friends or maybe even a watch with your parents, who probably have memories from when the movie first came out. The definition of nostalgia, at least in my eyes, has always been Disney. I grew up watching every Disney movie in existence, and I’m sure many people have had the same experience. The best way to reconnect with childhood memories is to step back into the world of Disney for a couple of hours. A great movie for this kind of experience is Up. This movie is heartfelt and teaches the viewer lessons about bravery and family. Whether you want to escape the busy haze of growing up or simply want to take a break from the rush of daily life, this is definitely an amazing way to sit back and relax. The last movie on this list is generationally nostalgic. With stars like Merryl Streep and Amanda Seyfried, Mamma Mia is definitely a memorable watch. With its 70s-inspired vibe, this film is a true throwback. Its fun musicality and chaotic plot will have every viewer captivated. If you're rewatching this film, it is guaranteed to bring back some old experiences, and if this is a first-time watch, you’re sure to make some great new memories. The best way to enjoy yourself for a couple of hours is to watch an amazing movie, and of course, munch on some snacks while you’re at it. No matter your mood, age, or lifestyle, a good old nostalgic movie can at least temporarily solve your biggest problems. When things get tough, remember to relax, snuggle into your blanket, and let the TV remote do the rest! |
