Letter from the New EICS
BY ANUSHA SENAPATI '24 & KÉRA MATTHEWS '24
Hey friends,
We thank Adixus for the soulful goodbyes. However, it’s time to let go—Késha is in town! A brief introduction: we, Kéra and Anusha, are your new 2023-2024 co-Editors-in-Chief. When we first heard about our new positions, Kéra and I (Anusha) could not, and would not, stop talking about it for weeks. More about us: our usual interactions involve long critiques of one another’s quirks and we eventually go down a rabbit hole of convos like this. We’ll be bringing this type of energy to The Spectrum (yes, unitalicized) going forward. We consider ourselves connoisseurs of all things (literally every single thing.), and we’re ready to follow in our previous debutantes’ footsteps in bringing all sorts of twists and turns to The Spectrum. Having been here since freshman year, we’ve weathered any and all circumstances at The Spectrum. We watched three generations of EICs bring their originality despite having to go virtual, and we’ve seen firsthand how tricky that can be. But we assure you that we are the perfect candidates for any of those situations—given that we are, of course, connoisseurs of everything. Forgot how to turn on the computers in the Mac lab? Fear not; we can spot that power button from a mile away. Don’t know where the snacks are? We will direct you towards our Trader Joes’ shrine. You will always be set when you’re with us. Knowing the struggles that AB community members have endured, we are fully committed to covering diverse topics about every issue in our district. We hope to bring awareness to suppressed voices, and we will work together to make this a newspaper you look forward to every season. Into this new era, we hope you welcome us with open arms and big hearts. To new beginnings! X’s and O’s, Anusha and Kéra |
