Ultimate Hair Accessory Ranking

Your choice of hair accessory says a lot about you: how do you choose to give yourself the confidence to start the day? Though there are countless products to bedazzle your hair, I will be exploring the holy trinity of hair accessories: the claw clip, the scrunchie, and the headband. So, what makes each item unique? Which one do I deem the best? And who are their wearers? With these profound questions in mind, I present to you: how your favorite hair accessory defines your personality.
The Claw Clip: Claw clips have recently made a comeback as part of a larger trend toward ’90s fashion. These claw clips are key for the Perfect Student Starter Pack ™ . You know who I’m talking about: the people who seem to have it all together; they’re productive, organized, and the perfect example of who you strive to be. Given that this trend only reemerged last year, claw clip wearers clearly tend to stay up to date on trends and know everything about the latest stationary drops. Alternatively, they may enjoy watching classic movies and pretending to be the main character in a 90’s sitcom. The claw clip is their coping mechanism to deal with the fact that you were born after 2000. Despite their differences, all claw-clip-wearers enjoy going on long walks (productive!) and watching sunsets (put-together!). The claw clip is my personal favorite hair accessory, and its versatility in styling is what sets it apart from other options. From updos to the half-up, the claw clip gives something that other accessories cannot. The Scrunchie: Known for its popularity during the VSCO girl era, the scrunchie is an iconic accessory that brings warm and fuzzy feelings. But ever since VSCO girls disappeared, scrunchies have also declined in popularity. If your #1 choice is still the scrunchie, you’re probably someone who likes the familiarity and comfort that it brings. I can’t blame you—it’s a safe choice. Any daily scrunchie users are likely introverts who like to stay home and binge-watch The Office. You tend to keep to yourself, and you believe that the best time spent is the time you spend alone. On any weekend, you can be found baking cookies with soft bedroom pop playing in the background. If I had to guess, you've got a love/hate relationship with pastel colors. Baby yellow was made for those who loved the VSCO era; pale orange, not so much. The scrunchie comes in at a close second behind claw clips for me, mostly because the emotional attachment I have to my Hydroflask is here to stay. The Headband: Headband people genuinely scare me. Maybe because it means you’re super into fashion, and I’m terrified of people judging my outfits. Or maybe it’s that you don’t stick to trends, and I refuse to believe that you are real. The headband is rarely sighted at school, so if this is your choice of hair accessory, you’re someone who breaks free from the mold. You love winter (probably because everyone else hates it), and you’ve already created a to-do list for next week. I hate to disappoint all my headband wearers, but you come in last place. It’s not you; it’s me. The Winner? So, maybe my opinions might be slightly biased (possibly because I will never be bold enough to wear a headband). Regardless, I stand by what I said about the claw clip’s versatility, the scrunchie’s comforting vibe, and how headbands will forever be an accessory I admire from afar. So, to all the voguish, hair-obsessed people—did I accurately lay out all facets of your personality? |
